Dr. Emilie Laston

Dr. Emilie Laston joined Suffield Veterinary Hospital in August of 2019 and became a practice partner in June of 2024. Originally from Vermont, she was active in 4-H and owned horses until heading off to college. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire at Durham, then attended the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island in Canada.

Dr. Laston began her veterinary career in large animal medicine but soon transitioned to small animal practice, where she found her true passion. She has special interests in reproduction, dentistry, geriatric medicine, and behavior.

She shares her home with a houseful of cats—each with their own unique personality—and a standard poodle named Nani, who is known for her fun and colorful hairstyles. Outside of work, Dr. Laston enjoys gardening and spending time caring for her home and property.

She looks forward to contributing to the hospital’s continued growth while fostering a collaborative environment where pets and people feel cared for.
