Smokey

Smokey was
very cute, with his gray fur and
green eyes. He had a small pink
nose and long whiskers. I
remember the time when Kristen,
my sister, was taking a bath and
Smokey jumped up on the ledge
and fell in! When she got him
out, he ran in the fireplace
(which we used the night
before), and it happened to be
full of ashes. Guess who was an
ash-covered kitten? When we got
Smokey out we had to get a towel
and use that to wipe him off. I
remember another time when we
were taking a picture of him. I
had a blanket with cat heads on
it. I held that up and Kristen
put Smokey in the middle of my
bed and surrounded him with a
lot of my cat stuffed animals.
I couldn’t tell which cat was
real, and which cats were fake.
Smokey was also really cute when
he played. He’d wiggle around
with his toys and bite them. He
looked so adorable!
Smokey was
also energetic. One time, when
he was playing I had a stick
with colorful stuff that
sparkled at the end. He was
chasing it and I put it over his
head and started to bring it the
other way. He literally did a
back flip to try to get it!
When Smokey ran around the house
I was afraid he would knock
something over since he was so
fast. When he was taking a nap
in the living room and he heard
his food bowl being filled –
ZOOM! In less than 30 seconds
he was there! Smokey was so
fast. One time we let him out
and the garage door was open.
He lipped in the garage and he
caught a mouse. I was so proud
of him, but mom wasn’t. She
made him stay outside. Then,
she threw away his mouse.
Smokey also ran outside a lot.
Once we opened the door he was
out. He would run around in the
front yard for a little while,
then he’d run across the street,
through our neighbor’s yard, and
then into the forest. Smokey
was also energetic at night.
He’d come up into my room in the
middle of the night. He’d bite
my hand. I would pull it up,
but if I did, Smokey would bite
it and drag it back down. I
don’t know what I did, but
somehow I managed to fall asleep
with the evil kitten killing my
hand.
Smokey was
also cuddly. When he wasn’t
biting my hand, he’d get into my
bed, wiggle under the blankets,
and fall asleep on my legs. His
soft, warm fur felt nice on my
legs. It felt like I had my own
animal fur (except this one
wasn’t dead). One time Smokey
slept on my head, so I woke up
one morning to find that I
couldn’t see. Then, Smokey
jumped off, so I knew it was
just him. Smokey would also
sleep with mom. He would curl
up in the crook of her leg when
she was sleeping on the couch.
I t was so cute that I took a
picture. Smokey also liked to
sleep in the sun. I liked to
sleep with him there. He was so
cute nobody could resist sitting
down with him and petting him.
Cute,
energetic, and cuddly – that’s
why Smokey was the best pet
ever! |
