Lady

This essay
is about my pet puppy Lady who
is a Field Spaniel. She does so
many funny things that I could
not easily name them all!
However I will tell you 3 of
these many tricks.
One of them
is how she “talks” to her family
to tell them a certain
something. Lady’s “talking” is
really moaning. And boy, can it
be annoying. For example, when
one member of our family goes
upstairs she sits down, nose
pointed at the gate and starts
her whining. She will sit there
in hope of one of her owners
will come jumping over the gate
so she will be petted and
praised.
Another of
her tricks is in her blood,
literally. She loves to chase
birds and I can’t forget those
leaves! That’s what she was
bred to do. Since, after all
she is a Field Spaniel which is
in the Sporting Group. When she
has to go to the bathroom we
always, always have to make sure
that her Gentle Leader is on
(which looks like a horse halter
to gently lead a dog around).
Now those birds are smart enough
to keep a close eye on Lady, and
keep their distance from her!
Last but
certainly not least of her
tricks are…She’s a total cuddle
bug! You see we have this red
chair in our dining room, and I
can put her in my lap for hours
and she will just stay there,
either sleeping or just
resting. Plus she also knows to
jump up into our laps if she
wants to cuddle, or needs
protection from something such
as the microwave. Which that
might sound funny, but the
microwave is a natural-born
enemy of a puppy.
So you can
see Lady is very “talkative”.
On of her many joys in life are
to chase leaves and birds. Plus
on a cold dreary, rainy night we
can sit on the couch, watch TV
and be cuddled up right there
and then. No matter what was
going on in our separate lives. |
